This was my third trip with The Traveling Professor. I and 3 friends enjoyed the pre-trip tour, itineraries, meals and activities. It was nice to be with a small group on a small ship that could access places where the big cruisers cannot possibly go. It was much more appealing, personal and friendly than big ship cruises. My only real disappointment was not getting to visit Zlatni Rat the last day. One highlight was our farm to table restaurant meal. There were many others. Linda and Steve are gracious hosts who conscientiously manage every detail behind the scenes letting us all relax and have fun. I have and continue to highly recommend their tours.

I had a great time on the Edinburgh & Scottish Highlands tour. It was my first group tour and I did it solo! It was great having someone handle everything in real time and our guide, Lynn was amazing. She did her best to make it a wonderful experience for everyone. Everyone on the tour was welcoming and friendly. The hotel locations were city center and made it easy to explore during my free time. All of the sites were on my "must see list" plus more. I had time to explore on my own as well. Thank you Traveling Professor for creating such a perfect travel experience in Scotland. You have set the bar high for future trips and I look forward to traveling with you again.

Our August 2026 trip with the Travelling Professor’s “Norway and the Fjords by Scenic Rail” tour was top-notch in every respect. The locations chosen for this taste of Norway tour were varied in the sights and experiences offered (Bergen, Flam and Oslo). The hotels were comfortable and well-situated. The itinerary was well-paced and left plenty of time for individual choices made easy by the included Bergen and Oslo Cards. The local guides were uniformly excellent. Our favorite excursion was the FjordSafari on the Sognesfjord—it didn’t hurt that the weather was absolutely perfect! Our favorite surprise bonus was getting to hear singer/songwriter Epsen Lind’s (“ Hey Soul Sister,” Drive By” and many more) concert from the window of our hotel in Bergen. We must make special mention of the tour leadership by Lynn. Some people either have the “hospitality gene” or they don’t—Lynn has it. Lynn is someone who clearly has a passion for sharing her love of travel with others. In addition to managing logistical details flawlessly, she fully engages with tour participants, fostering cohesion within the group that enhances the experience for everyone. This was our first Travelling Professor Tour, and we look forward to joining Lynn on another adventure in the future.

Croatia and the Dalmatian Coast Luxury Small Cruise Ship with The Traveling Professor September 26 – October 3, 2026 Some trips are enjoyable, some are memorable, and then there are those rare travel experiences that exceed every expectation and leave you wishing they could go on forever. Our September 26–October 3, 2026, Croatian small boat cruise with The Traveling Professor was absolutely one of those extraordinary experiences! Stephen Solosky and his wife, Linda, put together a truly exceptional travel package that combined the beauty, history, culture, and charm of Croatia with the intimacy and camaraderie of a small boat cruise. Croatia is a terrific destination, with its crystal-clear aquamarine Adriatic waters, picturesque coastal towns, historic architecture, and enchanting islands. Experiencing this beautiful country by small boat made the journey even more memorable. There is something magical about exploring the Croatian coastline from the water, discovering beautiful harbors, enjoying the scenery, and experiencing places in a way that a larger cruise ship simply cannot replicate. The small boat atmosphere made the entire experience feel intimate, relaxed, and personal. And then there was the wonderful group experience. One of the real joys of traveling with The Traveling Professor is the opportunity to share new discoveries with a small group of like-minded travelers. The shared experiences, conversations, laughter, and beautiful sights all contribute to the feeling that you are part of something special. Steve and Linda deserve enormous credit for putting together such an appealing trip, one of the very best trips I’ve ever taken in my entire life and I’m a senior who has had the good fortune of traveling throughout my life. This Traveling Professor Croatia trip offers a refreshing alternative to impersonal, mass-market travel, emphasizing meaningful experiences, interesting destinations, and the pleasure of discovering the world in good company.

This was a trip which exceeded all expectations. Sailing by day on the Adriatic, we saw various and beautiful landscapes, small islands and villages as well as the ancient city of Dubrovnik. Swim stops were available for those who wished a dip in the sea, meals were bountiful and delicious. We had excellent guides for our land excursions and some surprise treats such as a wine tasting adventure and agro-tourism meal in a small village. Our trip leaders, Steve and Linda, were readily available and also experienced travel experts. David, our local tour guide who was with us the entire trip, never failed to bring out the highlights of each new area we visited. Also, on board accommodations were comfortable. I highly recommend this trip for singles, couples or groups of friends.
